Tata Projects, one of the fastest growing and most admired infrastructure companies in India, which executes large and complex industrial infrastructure projects.
Tata Projects had a vendor management portal that enabled registration, approval and on-boarding of vendors. The portal had many issues that needed to be fixed. In addition to this, the performance of the portal had to be improved. We worked with the Supply Chain Management team to thoroughly fine-tune and upgrade the portal.
The Vendor Management portal of the client had serious reliability issues. The application kept crashing after users entered extensive vendor information. Data was not properly being stored to the database. In addition to this, some of the required functionality did not exist. The client also needed an experienced team to inspect and improve code quality.
We started by fixing all the bugs and design issues. We also improved the performance of the application by rewriting code. This was followed by the development of new functionality that allowed editing of applications and on-boarding vendors. The workflow was also extended and e-mail notifications have been set up at critical stages.
Finally, as part of QA, we inspected the code quality and improved it by removing instances of hard-coding. We incorporated Microsoft coding standards and best practices. The solution now works seamlessly and reliably. Feedback ratings on user experience have increased greatly since the relaunch.
• Improved reliability and performance.
• Enabled new functionality to edit vendor information and on-board new vendors.
